What is memo?
memo is a desktop platform for finding, collecting, organizing, linking, editing and sharing data - secure & private, without the cloud.
The desktop application (Windows/Linux, macOS in progress) combines desktop search with knowledge management and peer-to-peer technology for sharing and syncing.
The software is built as a modular, extensible platform with an app store and apps. The core apps are Files, Search & Collect, and Beam — see the Reference section for the full list of apps and how they work.
Use Cases
- Desktop Search — a fast way to locate files and data on your computer, focused on precision and efficiency for everyday use.
- Knowledge Management — turns scattered files into an explorable knowledge system through collections, labels and metadata, without moving or duplicating files.
- Document Management — lightweight tools to organize and manage documents, designed for simple setup without complex workflows.
- Image & Video Management — keeps images and videos accessible in one place, so you can browse, view, and maintain your media collection.
